Secretary Registration coordinator - Kaite Chaverri The duties of the secretary include coordinating registration, compiling uniform orders, compiling team roosters, coordinating the banquet and assigning teams their respective duties for the banquet, ordering the port-a-john, and coordinating fall/spring pictures. Uniform orders and team roosters are to be sent to the commissioner for approval and ordering/distribution. Additionally, parents are to submit volunteer hour forms for your signature which are then turned into the school for credit. Fundraising coordinator - Michelle Brooks We are a non-profit organization thus we rely on fundraising to keep the cost manageable and to help assist those that cannot afford to pay. This position entails coordinating and running the fundraiser from start to distribution. Fundraising opportunities may be chosen by the chair but need to be approved by the Commissioner and Board of Directors. Invoices will be sent to the treasurer for payment. Uniform coordinator - Vacant The uniform coordinator is responsible for ensuring uniforms are distributed. This individual will assist the secretary in obtaining incomplete registration and waiver forms, and assist the treasurer in obtaining outstanding payments. Uniforms are not to be distributed without completed registration. Equipment manager - Vacant The equipment manager is responsible for ensuring coaches have the needed equipment to run their teams correctly. This is done at the beginning of each season. Coaches will know to contact this individual mid-season if replacement equipment is needed. This individual will also need to keep inventory and stock of equipment in the soccer shed. Treasurer - Rebecca Rios This individual is responsible for ensuring all deposits and bills are paid on time. He/She is to balance the books seasonally with bank and report to the Board of Directors. This individual is also responsible for notifying the Board and School of bad debts. Assistant Commissioner - Gwen Blackwell This position is designed to help the commissioner when needed. This individual is also in charge of scheduling and recruiting referees for the league and running a referee clinic a minimum of every 2 years to maintain certification. Ref training can be done yearly if the need is warranted. This position will also ensure the training of new refs, and the monitoring of all home games to ensure the referees are paid at the end of the season. Ref reports will be sent to this individual, and a monthly tally will be sent to the treasurer for payment to the referees. (All red card violations need to be reported to the Commissioner immediately.)The assistant commissioner will also act as home commissioner when the commissioner is not present on the field. Field Manager - Don White The field manager is in charge of lining and maintaining the lines on the field. This needs to be done after every rain storm, and biweekly. Commissioner - Heather Walzel The commissioner of SMP is responsible for coordinating the start and duration of each season, seasonal responsibilities and Commissioner meetings. He/She will be in frequent communication with other commissioners. This position involves internal and external conflict resolution between players, coaches, parents, and school to school resolution when needed. SMP is also responsible for assisting with coordinating and distributing the game schedule for the league. The commissioner is responsible for recruiting and training of new coaches. The commissioner is responsible for direct communication with the school to ensure all volunteers are Virtus trained, hall rentals are secure, and mandatory scheduling meetings. All other duties as assigned and fulfilling vacated board positions. Website Manage - Vacant This individual is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the website. We are looking for someone that can help with development of a user friendly website that will allow automatic registration and creation of teams. Must have high level skills for this position. |
This is a volunteer, non-profit organization. Parents are expected to stay at practice, sign-up on the drink/snack schedule, and participate in fundraisers.
