SMCYA is a recreational soccer league that promotes learning, challenging, fun and Christian environment for all Catholic youth soccer players. This is a non-competitive league. This is intended to be a snapshot of rules that apply to parents and their players. This does not cover all the rules within the by-laws of the league.
Uniforms
· Official numbered jerseys are mandatory as are shin guards and soccer cleats (no football or baseball cleats). Peewee only may where tennis shoes.
· Socks must cover the shin guards. This helps ensure they stay in place.
· Jackets and sweat pants must be worn UNDER the uniform
· No jewelry, earring, hard hair barrettes or beaded hair
· No hard casts
PARENT CONDUCT
· No alcoholic beverages
· Cheer don’t jeer – any abuse to the coaches or refs may result in a yellow or red card for the team. Continued abuse may result in a forfeit.
· Parents may not stand behind the goals – this may result in a yellow card for that team.
· Parents must be on the opposite side of the field as the home and visiting team.
· Parents may not sit “on the line” allow 2 feet from the field line for the ref to see when the ball is out of bounds and throw-ins.
· No Pets on any SMCYA field
· Any concerns must first go through the coach. The coach will bring concerns to their Athletic Commissioner.
